Where Christ is the centre of everything we do

Our School

We currently have three classrooms—Year 0–3, Year 3–5, and Year 5–8. Our small class sizes ensure we can provide tailored support to meet the needs of every child.

Hawera Christian School has been on an extraordinary journey throughout its history. It began in 1979 at Belmont Church as Belmont Christian Academy, founded by a group of families who shared a vision for Christian education in Hawera. The school’s first teacher even worked without a salary to help the vision become a reality.

In 2013, the school moved to the former Tokaora School site. In 2024, after this land was reclaimed as part of a Māori settlement, the school relocated to a temporary site at 35 Manawapou Road.

Through prayer and significant community support, Hawera Christian School has now secured a permanent home at 2 Manawapou Road, Hawera. We look forward with excitement to establishing a high school in the near future.
