Prayer and Worship
Chapel
Each week on a Monday we have either a guest speaker or a pastor from our surrounding churches come and share with us about our current devotions topic.
Lunches
We currently receive free lunches, provided by the government. This is usually a hot meal.
If your child has any dietary restrictions, please inform us as soon as possible. Changes take approximately two weeks to be implemented by the lunch provider.
Please ensure your child brings healthy food snacks and drink. Treats such as chocolate, lollies, fizzy drinks, or juice should be kept at home.
We are a water only school.
Communication
We send out a weekly newsletter with updates on events and details about what we’re learning in Chapel and devotions, so that you can support and reinforce learning at home.
Additional communication channels include:
- Our website: For uniform information, strategic plans, complaints procedures, and pre-enrolment forms.
- Our Facebook page: For events and highlights.
- The eTAP app: For messaging absences and updates.

Learning Needs & Behavioural Support
To help us best support your child, please let us know about any learning strengths or difficulties, as well as any behavioural challenges, such as triggers or social skills they are still developing.
Behaviour
As a Christian school, we are committed to protecting our children from inappropriate influences and hold high expectations for behaviour. We ask for your full support when behavioural concerns need to be addressed.
At Hāwera Christian School:
- We do not play secular music or allow content that would be considered inappropriate by God’s standards.
- We do not allow children to talk about or play games or programmes unsuitable for their age—even if permitted at home.
- We do not promote Halloween or celebrate any other day that goes against the Word of God.
- We believe it is our responsibility to help protect children from being exposed to certain things too early.
Medication
Please inform us of any medication your child is taking or any changes to their medication.
If medication needs to be administered during the school day:
- A parent must complete a form at the school office
- Dosage and timing must be clearly specified
- All medication is stored safely at school
Assembly
We hold an assembly every Friday to celebrate and share our children’s learning achievements.
Uniform
We have a small stock of second hand uniform held at school. Uniform can be purchased from NZ Uniforms at the link below:

We pray that your child grows in their faith in Christ and develops a personal relationship with their Lord and Saviour while with us at Hawera Christian School.
